My new old favorite roll recipe!

My children know how much I LOVE my old cookbook from Huntington, Ut ! My mother-in-law gave it to me years ago for a present. I have used and used it over and over! Some of my most favorite recipes come from this book. I was wanting to bake some rolls on Sunday so I was searching some recipes and I came across this one. I had forgotten all about it I guess. So I want to share it will anyone who is interested in a great one! It is very easy!

DINNER ROLLS

1 cup scalded milk

3Tbsp butter of margarine

1 egg, beaten

1 Tsp yeast

1 & 1/2 Tsp. sugar

1 tsp. salt

2 + cups flour

Dissolve butter in scalded milk, cool to lukewarm. Sprinkle in yeast and wait until it dissolves. Add salt, egg and sugar until yeast bubbles. Mix flour to form soft dough, I added a bit more flour so I could work with dough. Cover with damp cloth and let rise until double. Turn out onto oiled counter. Roll out as desired. (I just ball and put into muffin tins.)

Bake at 400 degrees. Makes about 2 dozen. YUMMY!

This girl loves her daddy!

I have been going through my pictures for a few days trying to get them organized!

I even learned how to scan to my computer. Now that spring is almost here, this was one of my winter projects. I found this picture of Emily and her dad at the state cross country meet in Coeur d'Alene Idaho where we went to watch Alexis run . We talked her and Aaron into riding with us on the way there, Aaron rode with friends on the way home. We really enjoyed her company, and I hope she enjoyed ours. It was a time that was very good for us. We loved watching our kids in their activities. We decided to take our dog, Chewy with us. Now Emily did not love Chewy like the rest of us did. Let's just say she put up with him! After the meet Chewy ran and jumped into the lake because it was so hot! We could see him looking and going for it, but it was too late to stop him! In he went, and you all know what WET DOG smells like! Needless to say it was a pretty long trip home, at least until Chewy tried off. Thanks Emily for putting up with us. It was a really fun meet to watch Alexis run in. It is so beautiful in Coeur d'Alene. I really love this picture of her and her daddy. She tried to never disappoint him. I was always so jealous of the relationship they had.

Visiting Linda and Cary

My brother, Terry and I were able to go up to Loveland last Sunday afternoon and see my sister, Linda, and her husband, Cary! They live in Montana and we don't get a chance to see too often! They have been in Loveland having some cancer treatments for Cary. I am happy to report they are doing pretty good and have lots of hope!
Terry, Linda and Penny ( I am the one in the sunflower coat)! I think we look quite a bit alike! Our eyes are the same shape and I think our mouths are similar. I am still the shortest!

Looking back

It is so fun to look through pictures! This was such an awesome time for our family! This is when Lex was sealed to Emily and Paul in the Atlanta, GA. temple. What a great event!

I was there also for the birth of Tadhg! Sweet little baby boy! I think he was just a few days old when we went to the temple. I got to make Indie a new white dress to wear for that special day! It was so fun for me to do that.
They were all so little! Wow time flies. Tadhg is now going to be 5 this July. This piciture reminds me just how important our families are and how important the Gospel is to each of us.

We have the opportunity to be together FOREVER! We just have to remember to do our part. Our children are a special gift from God for us to love and take care of while here on this earth.
Lex was so cute this day, well he always is, but this day was very important to him!
